The Faculty Assistant supports professors by attending classes, managing course materials on D2L, and assisting with administrative tasks like attendance and proctoring. They perform duties as directed by the professor to facilitate classroom activities.

The Program The Faculty Assistant (FA) program supports faculty who are teaching (three or four credit) classes of sixty (60) or more students (for classes of 120 or greater registered students, two FAs can be provided).
The FA can assist faculty in any classroom activity deemed appropriate for 6 hours per week for 15 weeks at $9.00 per hour.
Position Description Students participating in the East Stroudsburg University Faculty Assistant (FA) program are required to attend all classes for which they are providing support.
FAs will work directly with professors who will outline their position responsibilities which may include: verifying class rosters, taking attendance, arranging for technology services, and assisting with maintaining and uploading course materials and information onto D2L.
Additionally, FAs can assist with proctoring exams, scanning, copying, collating, distributing course materials, and updating bulletin boards.
The Faculty Assistant may be assigned other duties as directed by the professor that are appropriate, but may not perform any functions as instructor of record, e.g., LCAs are not to grade any course assignments.
Required Qualifications: Current ESU Student.
Hired or recommended by the professor who teaches the course.
Employment Eligibility & University Commitment Must be at least 18 years old and have English literacy skills.
Employment with ESU is contingent on the selected candidate passing a thorough background check that includes FBI fingerprinting, PA Child Abuse, and employment.
