Before and After School Care Assistant – Job responsibilities
Nurture and care for children while parents are at work. Provide snacks and meals. Maintain Daycare Facilities: No matter the age of the children being cared for, it’s essential that their environment is safe, clean, and comfortable. The After School Care Assistant needs to help clean and organize the facility end of each day. Prepare and Clean up Meals: help prepare meals and snacks, supervise the children while they eat, and clean up after mealtime. Promote personal Hygiene: help the children under their care stay clean and teach them the importance of personal hygiene habits. Perform good hand-washing techniques for disease and infection control. Oversees projects and Free Time Organize activities and implement curricula that stimulate children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth. Provide for a child's basic needs. Report behavior to parents each day. Supervise children while they are playing outside or on a playground. Provide homework assistance. Lock the building at the end of the day.
An Associate’s degree in any field or 48 semester hours at an accredited university or college is required (focus in education and early childhood development desired). Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Ability to perform clerical duties. Ability to operate common office machines. Ability to maintain basic files and records. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments. Physical ability to lift/carry 20 lbs and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
