About the role

The Literacy Interventionist will deliver targeted Tier II and Tier III literacy instruction to elementary students using data-driven strategies to accelerate reading growth. They will collaborate with classroom teachers and families to monitor progress and foster an identity-centered, culturally responsive learning environment.

This job post is for the 2026/2027 school year, starting in August of 2026.

Staff will report to summer PD in July of 2026.

Our Approach to Literacy Intervention At Rocky Mountain Prep, literacy intervention is not remediation but acceleration.

We believe every scholar can become a confident, critical reader and writer when provided with precise, data-driven instruction and affirming, identity-centered learning experiences.

Through our MTSS framework, Literacy Interventionists deliver targeted Tier II and Tier III support that addresses unfinished learning while keeping scholars engaged in grade-level texts and tasks.

Using whole group, small-group, and individualized instruction, they analyze real-time data to identify root causes of reading challenges in areas such as decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, and design responsive lessons that build foundational skills alongside critical thinking.

Grounded in our culture of Rigor and Love, intervention prioritizes scholar voice, discussion, and meaningful engagement with diverse, complex texts so students see themselves as readers, thinkers, and leaders.

In partnership with families, classroom teachers, and school leaders, Literacy Interventionists ensure scholars receive aligned, cohesive support that accelerates growth and expands future opportunity.

Literacy Interventionists at Rocky Mountain Prep will...

Deliver daily Tier II and Tier III literacy intervention in whole group, small-group, and individualized settings aligned to grade-level standards.

Analyze literacy data to identify skill gaps, set ambitious growth goals, and monitor scholar progress using research-aligned assessment systems.

Design targeted literacy lessons that address root causes of reading challenges and build comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and writing skills using adaptive blended learning tools.

Collaborate closely with English Language Arts teachers to ensure intervention aligns to core instruction and upcoming units.

Build culturally responsive classrooms that affirm scholar identity, promote discussion and critical thinking, and cultivate confidence as readers and writers.

Communicate regularly with families and scholars to share progress, promote student agency, and provide strategies to support literacy development at home.

Participate in MTSS meetings and contribute actionable insights to support school-wide literacy outcomes.

Support advisory, tutoring blocks, or additional student supports as needed to ensure scholars thrive academically and socially.

Model RMP’s PEAK values while maintaining high expectations, urgency, and deep belief in every scholar’s brilliance.

Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching. They build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families. RMP teachers collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment. They also model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions and remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned to our evolving Concept Essence.

Education

Requirements: Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject) Subject matter expertise required, as evidenced by either a record of results in teaching the content or a content-specific degree Other Requirements Within the first year of your employment, you’re required to complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours. Pass a background check. Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States. We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires. Preferred Certifications Salary This is a full-time position with a salary range of $63,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
