  • Category: Instructional FacultyBullis School seeks an Academic Center Coordinator to contribute to our vibrant learning community by overseeing the Upper School Testing Center and supporting the Learning Support team. This 10-month position manages the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center, proctors school-based and standardized testing, and provides academic support to students as needed. The position may also include additional instructional or community responsibilities based on the needs of the School and the candidate’s experience and interests. Reporting primarily to the Director of Academic Support and secondarily to the Head of Upper School, the successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a genuine appreciation for working with high school-aged students.

The Learning Support Specialists develop strong, trusting relationships with students and aim to help students appreciate their unique strengths and areas of challenge so that they may develop effective, efficient strategies to grow as learners. The Learning Support team is guided by the philosophy that developing independence and self-advocacy skills is paramount for students. They partner closely with faculty to facilitate the effective use of accommodations and share best pedagogical practices, skillful classroom management, and methods of differentiation. Learning Support Specialists maintain communication with families and work with outside professionals to ensure each student is reaching their full academic and personal potential and achievement. Proctor school-based exams and standardized testing Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Student Support Services Team Support Upper School students' needs when learning support members are not available Other Duties Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Academic Support and Head of Upper School Continued professional development endeavor Qualities An appreciation and respect for high school-aged students as learners and people, through challenging and joyful moments alike Commitment and knowledge to work with, teach, and lead groups of diverse individuals in respectful, equitable, and inclusive ways Good cheer, humor, and warmth, balanced by professionalism and sound judgment Detail-oriented, with the capacity to effectively and efficiently manage multiple tasks and demands on attention Must be able to exchange accurate information in a professional manner with parents, students, faculty, staff and other professionals, including excellent writing skills Ability to handle and maintain confidential information

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree 3 years of prior experience in learning support or related fields
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Special Education or related field Prior experience in learning support focusing on grades 9-12 Compensation and benefits are competitive, with an anticipated salary range of $55,000 to $65,000.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and possess at least 3 years of experience in learning support or a related field. A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred.
