Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Legacy High School Teacher to inspire and guide high school students through their academic journey. This role involves delivering engaging lessons across various subjects, supporting diverse learning styles, and fostering a positive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for education, strong communication skills, and a commitment to student success.
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and educational regulations. Deliver instruction in core subjects such as Math (including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus), Literacy Education, Creative Writing, and Physical Education. Utilize educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and adapt lessons for different learning styles. Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting a respectful and inclusive environment for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional modifications, and best practices for working with students with special education needs. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior; participate in parent-teacher conferences. Mentor students academically and personally, fostering growth in confidence, critical thinking, and social skills. Engage in ongoing professional development related to educational technology integration, curriculum implementation, and childhood development.
Proven experience teaching high school students, including those with diverse learning needs or from varied cultural backgrounds. Strong knowledge of core academic subjects such as Math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus), Literacy Education, and Physical Education. Familiarity with curriculum development, instructional modifications, standardized testing procedures, and educational compliance standards. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to engage students effectively through public speaking and creative teaching methods. Experience working with children or teenagers in classroom settings; prior private school experience is a plus. Skills in classroom management, behavior management strategies, and working with students with special education needs. Ability to adapt lessons based on individual learning styles and provide instructional modifications as needed. Knowledge of educational technology tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), library services integration, and online learning platforms like Acellus or similar systems. Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, classroom responsibilities management, and academic advising.
