The teacher will lead physical education classes for students in grades Pre-K through 8th and provide support as an assistant teacher across various school levels. Additional duties include supervising lunch and recess periods and coaching within the 5-12 athletics program.

About the Position

Grace Church School seeks to hire a full-time interim physical education teacher to support students in grades JK-8. The position would start in December 2026.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (Preferred: Master's Degree) Physical Education teaching experience Strong classroom management skills Seeks to join a collaborative work environment Proficiency with Microsoft (Docs, Sheets) Excellent grammar, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

Lead Pre-K through 8th grade Physical Education Teacher Assistant Teacher, Early Childhood, Lower School, and Middle School Physical Education Lunch, Recess, and other supervisory duties Coaching multiple seasons within the 5-12 athletics program Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time faculty position, and the expected salary will be based on the faculty salary scale, ranging from $68,000–$155,040, commensurate with education, experience, and total workload. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life/disability, flexible spending accounts, generous 403(b) contributions with immediate vesting and access to $3100 in professional development funds per year, beginning in your second year of employment. Compensation for coaching is paid separately according to an hourly stipend rate. Grace Church School is an equal opportunity employer.
