The CPP Instructor provides classroom instruction and guidance to students during their final week of the Career Preparation Period. They are responsible for evaluating student progress, reinforcing workplace behaviors, and ensuring a successful transition into technical career training.
Provides engaging classroom instruction and training to students during the third and final week of CPP. Reinforces knowledge, skills, expectations, and behaviors introduced throughout the CPP experience. Prepares students for a successful transition from CPP into Academics and their chosen technical career training. Evaluates student performance, progress, and readiness for transition. Provides individualized support, remediation, and guidance to help students successfully complete CPP requirements. Establishes positive, supportive, and mentoring relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Mentors, monitors, and models Career Success Standards as required by the PRH. Provides personal and career guidance to help students identify goals and understand expectations for their continued success at Job Corps. Provides effective classroom management and maintains a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Holds students accountable for their actions and behavior while treating students with respect and courtesy. Routinely evaluates and accurately documents student performance and progress in the case management system. Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures student information and data are accurate and not manipulated. Works collaboratively with staff across departments to ensure students receive the services and support necessary for a successful transition. Communicates clearly and professionally with students, staff, management, DOL, and company representatives. Ensures the classroom and assigned work area are organized, clean, safe, and conducive to student and staff success. Completes assignments accurately, thoroughly, and within established deadlines. Maintains appropriate attendance, accountability, productivity, and professional standards. Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines. Maintains the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform assigned responsibilities. Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, Shift Manager, and other designated leadership. May temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments or positions as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsJob Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Degree from an accredited institution preferred. Previous teaching, group facilitation, training, youth development, counseling, or Job Corps experience preferred. Experience working with young adults or in an educational, workforce development, or training environment preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young adults in a structured learning environment. Ability to establish positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Ability to provide constructive feedback and hold students accountable while maintaining a supportive approach. Ability to effectively present information to groups and adapt instruction to meet varying student needs. Ability to accurately document student information and maintain confidentiality. Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.
