Description Everyone knows the pool is the coolest place to be in the summer. Join our Aquatics Team to make sure everyone can enjoy the pool in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you’re a lifeguard, a swim instructor, or a little bit of both, you’re going to love working in aquatics at the Y because you’re helping swimmers feel confident and gain experience in the water.

Conduct swimming lessons for children, teens, and adults of varying skill levels Develop and implement lesson plans that align with YMCA standards and safety protocols Monitor participants’ progress and provide constructive feedback to improve their skills Enforce safety rules and ensure a safe swimming environment at all times Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and team members Promote water safety awareness and YMCA programs to participants and their families At the YMCA, we foster a welcoming environment that encourages personal growth and community engagement. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. Must be 16 years of age and show technical ability in swim skill instruction. Proficient and demonstration quality swimming skills and safety skills. Previous experience teaching swimming or water safety preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with diverse age groups and skill levels Knowledge of water safety practices and emergency response procedures Reliable, responsible, and punctual with a positive attitude
