Succeed: Become a STRONG unified team providing students with an INNOVATIVE environment to become productive members of society Social Emotional Support / Service Delivery School Social Worker is responsible for managing/monitoring the internal student support services referral system. Referrals include anything from basic needs to crisis response. Examples include reporting suspected abuse/neglect, crisis intervention, mental health support, and supporting barriers to educational success. Social Worker is responsible for adding relevant stakeholders and assigning referrals to internal staff members. Social Worker leads regional crisis response team, in collaboration with administration, relevant staff members, and community service providers (when needed). Respond and assess student social emotional needs and refer to community resources and/or provide short-term social emotional support in an individual or small group setting, based on licensure and experience. Participate in the planning, coordination, implementation and delivery of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programming, curriculum and initiatives that support student academic, behavioral, and emotional success. Advocacy // Building Capacity Assume leadership roles in their region and within the school as a whole. Identify families to be school leaders. Educate school personnel on the impact of trauma through professional development, modeling, and participation in problem solving meetings. Provide training and consultation to enhance others’ practices, skills & abilities relevant to social emotional needs, such as mandatory reporting, utilizing the referral system, crisis response protocol, etc. Establish partnerships with community agencies/providers and share these resources with students, families, and staff to eliminate barriers to academic and behavioral success. Engage in internal and external professional education, supervision, continuing education program, peer consultation, etc. Contribute to the development of the school social work profession. Establish professional relationships with school personnel to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration and provide professional consultation. Use of Data and Evidence Monitor, maintain and utilize GOAL social emotional data tools (SEL platforms, MTSS, SSS referral, student needs survey) to help identify student needs as well as communicate needs with internal and external stakeholders.
