Substitute Teacher

The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instructional continuity and maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
• Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas as assigned.
• Encourage student engagement and participation in learning activities.
• Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations.
• Take attendance and maintain accurate records as required.
• Communicate important information regarding classroom activities, student behavior, and completed assignments to the regular teacher.
• Follow all school safety, emergency, and confidentiality procedures.
• Support and model Catholic values and Christian behavior in interactions with students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or school administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and classroom procedures effectively.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to different grade levels and instructional settings.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to supervise and engage students in a positive manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Dependable, flexible, and organized. Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and administrators.
