About the Role

Provide interpretation services for students and families, for school meetings. This role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support student/family during meetings and conferences. Languages Needed: Akan Arabic Chinese Mandarin Dutch/Flemish Farsi/Persian/Iranian French Gujarati Hindi Himong/Mong Italian Khmer/Cambodian Lao-Laotian Marathi Panjabi, Eastern Portuguese/ Brazil Russian Swahili/Kiswahili Tagalong Telugu Turkish Urdu Yoruba/Yariba Why Join Us:

Collaborate with teachers, SPED staff, and related service providers to support student success and IEP goals

Support communication during meetings, assessments, and other school activities as needed

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of interpreting What We're Looking For: Must Have: Professional fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Akan Arabic Chinese Mandarin Dutch/Flemish Farsi/Persian/Iranian French Gujarati Hindi Himong/Mong Italian Khmer/Cambodian Lao-Laotian Marathi Panjabi, Eastern Portuguese/ Brazil Russian Swahili/Kiswahili Tagalong Telugu Turkish Urdu Yoruba/Yariba

Experience providing interpretation in professional, educational, healthcare, or community settings.

Ability to pass Simulated Interpretation Exercise.

Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret accurately in real time.

Ability to pass background screening appropriate for school-aged populations.

Educational Context Training includes FERPA confidentiality protocol. A signed FERPA acknowledgment on file before any placement.

Preferred

  • Bilingual education degree or linguistics background.
  • National interpreter certification or completion of a recognized interpreter training program. ATA (American Translators Association) membership or certification. CCHI or CoreCHI certification, NBCMI certification.
  • Experience working in school-based or educational settings
  • Familiarity with IEP environments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
