About the role

The Employment Coordinator is responsible for the outreach, recruitment, and onboarding of participants into vocational training programs. They provide career coaching, conduct vocational assessments, and manage client progress to ensure successful job attainment and retention.

JOB SUMMARY The JCC’s Career Connections department consists of employment and support programs serving individuals who are looking to obtain long-term employment. The department provides access to career counseling, job placement, occupational training, education, resources, and support programs for individuals who are motivated to enter the workforce. is responsible for community outreach, recruitment,

ABOUT YOU You will be responsible for the Outreach, recruitment, and onboarding of Career Connections training programs through community outreach as well as for assisting workforce clients ages 18-40 in enrolling in and completing vocational training and obtaining and retaining competitive employment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO Complete comprehensive vocational assessments, create and present soft skills workshops to participants Support participants and CRED staff during intake, to ensure that the program participants choose appropriate based on their career interests and occupational goals, and that staff are aware of participants' social service needs, which will promote participant program completion, job attainment, and quality of life.

Outreach includes but is not limited to tabling at community events; canvassing, representing JCC CRED program at community events; presenting at Information Sessions; speaking individually with candidates and participants.

Oversee Career Connections Event registration, such as Job Fairs, THRIVE Expo, etc.

Work closely to actively recruit, interview, and assess clients ages 18-40 for entrance into JCC vocational training programs.

Achieve quarterly enrollment, placement, and retention targets.

Provide coaching and direct support to adults with limited work history and educational attainment.

Assist clients in developing appropriate social skills and work habits that will result in long-term employment or career advancement opportunities.

Manage and track client stipend payments for vocational training Complete basic reporting requirements including, but not limited to, progress notes and client tracking; ensure data entry is completed by deadline dates as assigned Assist participants in removing barriers to employment by connecting to necessary services both within and outside the JCC.

Work closely with case management staff to coordinate social services referrals and generate ideas to help clients achieve their education and employment goals.

Attend training and staff meetings as required.

Assist with the generation of program reports and proposals for funding as needed.

Possess strong digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and Knowledge of Google applications such as Gmail, Google Voice, Calendar usage, etc.

OUR REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Business, Psychology, or a related field.

At least three (3) years of relevant experience in workforce development, recruiting, and human resources is preferred.

Sensitivity towards and ability to work with diverse individuals including, but not limited to, immigrants, young adults, single parents, English language learners, and other low-income, high-barrier-to-employment populations.

Demonstrated experience working in a goal-driven environment to achieve monthly targets.

Demonstrated experience teaching or facilitating groups and individuals to achieve a desired outcome using up-to-date techniques/methods.

Experience providing comprehensive assessment and case management services and/or helping others with a large caseload is desirable.

Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills are required.

The ability to effectively conduct meetings, training, and groups is preferred.

SALARY $50,000.00 - $55,000.00
