Position Summary

Sport Coaches will lead and deliver the facility's youth and adult pickleball programs, including, but not limited to, leagues, developmental classes, after-school and homeschool programs, clinics, camps, private and semi-private training sessions, and birthday parties.

The Sports Coach is responsible for coaching and developing athletes of varying ages and skill levels, with a primary focus on pickleball fundamentals, technique, strategy, rules, sportsmanship, and game play. This role involves designing and implementing engaging training programs, providing clear instruction and individualized feedback, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment for athletes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Teach pickleball skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes in individual and group settings Develop and implement structured training programs to enhance athletes' skills, fitness, and game strategies Monitor, evaluate, and enhance athlete performance and progress Provide appropriate feedback through positivity, encouragement, leading by example, and motivation Demonstrate activities clearly by breaking down skills and techniques into sequential steps Promote discipline, respect, and sportsmanship in all team activities Maintain a friendly and courteous approach with athletes, parents, and facility team members Identify athlete strengths and areas for development Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all athletes Stay current with the latest coaching techniques, sports science, and industry best practices Perform all additional duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferred At least 2 years of appropriate coaching/teaching sport in youth programs for athletes of various aptitudes Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills Must be a team player Must have excellent leadership and motivational skills Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekends Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified period Neat in appearance and professional in manner Strong knowledge of sports coach rules, techniques, and strategies Strong organizational and time-management abilities Passion for sports and athlete development WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high Must be able to move or lift lightweight equipment Position requires standing and activity for extended periods of time (indoors or outdoors), squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions

Requirements

Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience coaching youth sports and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required or must be obtained within a specified period.
