This role requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills to ensure the academic, social, and emotional development of students during and after school hours.

  • Support: Assist teachers in delivering instruction and reinforcing learning concepts in the classroom. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed. Monitor student behavior and ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials, resources, and activities. Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or specialist.

  • Duties: Serve as a role model and promote positive behavior and respect among students. Maintain accurate records of planning and implementation of activities. Communicate with special education team. Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred). Experience working with children in a classroom or program setting. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. Familiarity with designing and implementing educational or recreational activities. Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency protocols (certification preferred). Bilingual proficiency (preferred, depending on school community). Key Competencies Creativity and flexibility in planning activities to engage diverse learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with children in a classroom or program setting is required.
