About the role

Teach 7th grade mathematics using the Great Hearts classical curriculum and Socratic pedagogy to foster an orderly and joyful learning environment. Partner with school leadership and families to monitor student progress and provide necessary academic support.

7th Grade Math Teacher Location: Great Hearts Forest Heights Upper School (5538 Research Dr, San Antonio, TX 78240) Reports To: Headmaster FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt We are looking for life-long learners passionate about shaping students' hearts and minds. Join Great Hearts Academies, a growing network of 49 public, open-enrollment, tuition-free classical schools in Phoenix (AZ), Baton Rouge (LA), Dallas/Ft. Worth (TX), and San Antonio (TX). Great Hearts currently provides over 30,000 K-12 students with access to a high quality, classical liberal arts education. Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner. Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment. Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships. Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching. Required/Preferred Education: Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role Certification is not required for general education All majors are welcome US Work Authorization is required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
