About the role

The employee will assist students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and math. They will work under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher to support student learning.

Definition

An employee in this position will assist students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and math as directed. This employee will follow the direction of the classroom teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works directly under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Works with students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and math, as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to meet the needs of all diverse learners.
  • Ability to work with students individually or in a small group.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Ability to develop and compile records and reports.
  • Skilled in current assessments and using its data for teaching and learning.
  • Understanding the growth and development of assigned students.
  • Strong technology skills.
  • Recently trained in and strong understanding of Common Core.
  • Minimum Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 48 semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Must have previous experience tutoring in a school setting.

This Position Reports Directly to: Principal

Salary

$18.44 hour (Classified, without benefits)

$16.33 hour (Classified, with benefits)

Classification: Non-Exempt
