The Parent Educator works directly with families in their homes to develop positive parenting skills and facilitate child development activities. They are responsible for conducting assessments, maintaining accurate client records, and connecting families with essential community resources.

The Parent Educator works with families in their homes to develop skills and become strong influences in the lives of their children.

Duties

  • Develops resources for parents to overcome barriers and develop positive parenting skills.
  • Conducts all applicable assessments according to schedule.
  • Organizes and implements activities that keep children actively engaged and instructs the family on methods to continue these activities.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of data and client records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides resources for families to connect through community resources and services.
  • Serves as an advocate, protects and promotes child's rights.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other service organizations in respective counties.

Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child/adolescent development, or related fields is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: 5+ years related work experience in the areas of early childhood education/ development preferred.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have 5+ years of related experience and demonstrate strong professional judgment, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
