About the Role

As an Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning by creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. Whether working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, you will foster curiosity, independence, and confidence through purposeful play and hands-on learning. Your classroom will be a warm, joyful space where each child feels supported and celebrated.

You will also

Plan, supervise, and implement age-appropriate curriculum focused on early literacy, language development, math concepts, motor skills, and social-emotional growth Create a classroom culture that nurtures each child’s individuality while promoting curiosity and confidence Provide a structured yet playful environment through intentional, developmentally appropriate activities Collaborate with fellow educators and school leadership to align with program goals and best practices Maintain regular, positive communication with families through daily updates, reports, and conferences Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, licensing regulations, and developmental standards What We’re Looking For 12 semester (or 18 quarter) ECE units covering child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development Child Development Associate Certification CDA) preferred Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children Strong communication and interpersonal skills Prior early childhood teaching experience preferred Ability to support a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements
