The Education Facilitator supports the academic progress of adolescents in PHP and IOP programs by collaborating with families and schools. They develop individualized educational strategies that align with therapeutic treatment plans to foster both academic and emotional well-being.

Title: Education Facilitator Reports to: Executive Director Department/Location: Onsite FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: The Education Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting the educational needs of adolescents participating in our PHP and IOP programs.

This position ensures that students continue to engage in their educational goals while receiving treatment for their behavioral and mental health challenges.

This is a Monday-Friday Per Diem role with the hours of 12pm-3pm (approximately 15 hours/week)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with academic institutions and families to ensure students maintain educational progress while in treatment. Provide individualized educational support tailored to the needs of each adolescent, adapting curricula and lesson plans where necessary. Serve as a liaison between educational institutions and Guidelight Health staff to ensure seamless communication and support for student academic requirements. Develop and implement educational strategies that align with the therapeutic goals of the adolescent's treatment plan. Assist in creating an environment that fosters both academic achievement and emotional well-being. Conduct assessments to evaluate educational needs and progress, while keeping accurate records of student performance and engagement. Maintain a structured yet flexible learning environment that is conducive to both learning and therapeutic support. Collaborate with mental health professionals to integrate educational services with treatment plans. Provide guidance to adolescents to help them improve study habits, time management, and academic confidence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, Special Education, or related field. 2+ years of experience working with adolescents, ideally within a behavioral health or special education setting. Proven experience in educational planning and facilitating curriculum for students with diverse learning needs. Strong understanding of mental health issues and their impact on learning and development. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, counselors, and case managers. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field. At least two years of experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health or special education setting is required.
