Job Description

Position Summary

Nyman Associates, a Point Quest Partner, is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and highly qualified Child Study Team (CST) Case Manager – School Social Worker to join our team in supporting New Jersey school districts. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the Child Study Team, coordinating evaluations, managing special education case responsibilities, and collaborating with educators, families, and community partners to ensure students receive appropriate services in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the New Jersey Administrative Code (N.J.A.C. 6A:14). The ideal candidate is an organized professional with strong communication skills, a student-centered approach, and experience navigating the special education process from referral through eligibility determination, IEP development, and ongoing case management. Essential Responsibilities Serve as the Child Study Team case manager for assigned students receiving special education services. Coordinate and facilitate the evaluation, eligibility, and IEP development process in accordance with federal and New Jersey special education regulations. Conduct comprehensive social histories and social assessments as part of multidisciplinary evaluations. Coordinate initial evaluations, reevaluations, annual reviews, and triennial evaluations. Schedule and facilitate Child Study Team meetings, eligibility conferences, and IEP meetings with parents, school personnel, and outside providers. Develop, maintain, and monitor compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Ensure timelines and procedural safeguards are followed throughout the special education process. Collaborate with school psychologists, learning disabilities teacher-consultants (LDT-Cs), speech-language specialists, teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families. Provide consultation regarding students' social, emotional, behavioral, and family needs. Assist families in accessing school and community resources that support student success. Monitor student progress and coordinate communication among educational teams. Maintain accurate documentation, evaluation reports, case notes, and confidential student records. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, professional development, and district initiatives. Support compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and all applicable New Jersey Department of Education regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned by district administration.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university. Valid New Jersey School Social Worker Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education. Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred. Experience serving on a New Jersey School Child Study Team Why Join Nyman Associates?
