Louis.Job Summary

St. Louis Catholic Academy is seeking qualified and dependable Substitute Teachers to provide instructional support and maintain continuity of learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for implementing lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, managing classroom behavior, and supporting the academic, social, and spiritual development of students in accordance with the mission and values of Catholic education.

Job Description: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Deliver instructional lessons and classroom activities as outlined by the regular classroom teacher.

Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.

Supervise students throughout the school day, including during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and transitions as assigned.

Promote positive student behavior and enforce school policies and classroom expectations.

Adapt to various grade levels, subject areas, and classroom settings as needed.

Take attendance and maintain accurate classroom records during assignments.

Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, and staff regarding classroom activities and student needs.

Uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of St.

Louis Catholic Academy.

Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.

Follow emergency procedures and school safety protocols.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and school information.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrator.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate degree, bachelor's degree, or current teacher certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth development setting preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and student engagement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and instructional guidance.
  • Dependable, professional, and flexible.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and administration.
  • Successful completion of required background checks, Safe Environment training, and Archdiocesan compliance requirements.

  • Ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

Requirements
