The Assistant Swim Coach supports the Head Swim Coach in leading practices, workouts, and swim meets while fostering a positive and safe environment for swimmers. They are responsible for helping swimmers develop skills, achieve seasonal goals, and maintaining an engaging atmosphere during team activities.

Description Assistant Swim Coach – HRC Manta Rays FLSA Status

  • Responsibilities: None Make a Splash with the Manta Rays! Do you love swimming, working with kids, and being part of a high-energy team? The HRC Manta Rays are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Swim Coach to help our swimmers build confidence, improve their skills, and have a great time in the pool! As an Assistant Swim Coach, you’ll work alongside the Head Swim Coach to support our summer Manta Rays swim team and year-round swim program. From helping lead practices to bringing the energy on meet day, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive, fun, and encouraging experience for our swimmers and their families. What You’ll Do Assist the Head Swim Coach with practices, workouts, meets, and team activities. Help develop seasonal goals and support swimmers as they work toward them. Assist with swim workouts, drills, technique, and skill development. Encourage swimmers of varying ages and skill levels while creating a positive team environment. Help keep swimmers engaged, motivated, safe, and having fun. Assist with the setup, organization, operation, and cleanup of swim meets. Help create an exciting and welcoming atmosphere at practices and meets. Communicate positively and professionally with swimmers, parents, fellow coaches, and Club staff. Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and the HRC Manta Rays spirit. Assist the Head Swim Coach with other team-related activities and assignments as needed. Pitch in when needed! Club life can be busy and ever-changing, so all employees may occasionally be asked to assist with other duties or departments. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is positive, dependable, energetic, and great with kids. You don’t have to know everything on day one, but you should be ready to learn, jump in, and be an enthusiastic part of the team. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED, unless currently enrolled in high school. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Ability to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, coaches, and staff. Swimming, competitive swim, lifeguarding, or coaching experience is a plus. Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and swim meets as scheduled. A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position around the pool.

Communicate clearly and hear swimmers, coaches, and activity around the pool. Occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Maintain the visual awareness necessary to supervise swimmers and activities safely. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Work Environment This position is primarily performed in and around an aquatic environment and may include: Wet and humid conditions. Outdoor weather, including heat, sun, wind, and rain. Exposure to pool chemicals and other typical conditions associated with an aquatic facility. Moderate to high noise levels during practices and swim meets. Regular interaction with children, families, coaches, Club members, and employees. Requirements
