Description Description Immaculate Conception School is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the direction of the Principal, the 3rd Grade Teacher supports the mission of Immaculate Conception School and the Diocese of Nashville by providing students with a strong academic foundation while fostering their spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development within a Catholic school environment. The successful candidate will create a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom that encourages students to grow in knowledge, responsibility, independence, and faith.
Recognize and support the unique Catholic mission of Immaculate Conception School by speaking, acting, and teaching in a manner consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Model Gospel values through professional conduct, relationships, attitude, and example. Support and participate in the faith life of the school, including prayer, Mass, religious celebrations, service opportunities, and other school-wide faith activities. Create a classroom environment that supports the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development of 3rd grade students. Prepare and deliver effective, engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum standards and expectations of Immaculate Conception School and the Diocese of Nashville. Demonstrate strong knowledge of elementary curriculum and effective instructional practices, particularly in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and religion. Differentiate instruction to address the individual learning needs and abilities of students. Establish clear classroom routines, procedures, expectations, and behavioral standards that promote responsibility, self-discipline, respect, and positive relationships. Maintain an organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Assess student learning regularly and use assessment data to guide instruction and provide appropriate academic support. Maintain accurate records of student grades, progress, attendance, and other required documentation. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom expectations, academic concerns, and student successes. Collaborate effectively with the Principal, faculty, staff, intervention specialists, and other members of the school community. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, school events, and other activities required by the school and Diocese. Enforce all school and diocesan policies and procedures consistently and professionally. Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students, families, faculty, and school matters. Demonstrate professionalism in communication, appearance, conduct, attendance, and interactions with students, families, colleagues, and visitors. Assist with supervision duties, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, Mass, assemblies, field trips, and other school activities as assigned. Participate in extracurricular, co-curricular, service, and community-building activities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required. Must hold an active Tennessee teaching license with an appropriate elementary education endorsement or be enrolled in an approved job-embedded educator preparation program. Previous elementary classroom teaching experience preferred. Strong classroom management, organization, communication, and instructional skills required. Experience working in a Catholic or faith-based school environment is preferred. Practicing Catholic preferred.
