Job Summary The job of Paraprofessional - Special Education is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the special education program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for assisting in the instruction of individual or small groups of students in a variety of subject areas and providing individualized learning experiences to encourage academic excellence; assisting in the implementation of a behavior modification program; monitoring and reporting student behavior and performance; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and performing a variety of clerical duties as assigned.

Salary $24.64-$31.42 per hour Length of Work Year 180 Employment Type Full Time Hours: 3 hours per day, 5 days per week. Probationary Period: 6 months Requirements / Qualifications If you are NOT currently or never have been a Paraprofessional for VUSD, you must include proof of one of the following: Completion of 48 units of college or university or above OR Passing score on the District Paraprofessional Exam Paraprofessional Testing (Or Proof of passing score on exam) 48 Units of College or University or above Must be able to pass the Strength and Agility test Must be able to provide proof of high school completion Tuberculosis Clearance Criminal Background Clearance Comments and Other Information Application Deadline: 09/10/2026
