Swim Instructor I

The swim instructor is responsible for maintaining a positive atmosphere while providing direct leadership and instruction to students in swim classes according to ymca guidelines. This includes developing positive relationships with participants and colleagues, conveying program information, maintaining required records, and following all organizational policies and safety procedures.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old and demonstrate proficiency in swim instructor skills according to ymca standards. Required certifications include ymca swim instructor certification, cpr for the professional rescuer, aed, basic first aid, and emergency oxygen, along with completing specific e-Learning modules within the first 30 days.
