2026 ESY Special Education Teacher

Summer School Dates: July 6, 2026 through July 31, 2026

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid license (or provisional license) in special education
  • Knowledge of best practices and experience teaching students with disabilities
  • Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with disabilities

Experience

  • Teaching students with disabilities
  • Working with a variety of ability /grade levels (classes are multi-graded)

Responsibilities

  • Include:
  • Plan, organize, implement appropriate instruction based on student’s IEP goals
  • Adapt instruction, assignments and curriculum depending on the needs of the students
  • Collect data on student critical life skill goals
  • Provide accommodations and modifications for students as needed
  • Working collaboratively with school staff, student services staff, and families
  • Plan and organize activities to be carried out by an assistant if assigned
