Job Summary

The Student Radiologic Technologist takes radiographic images while performing a diagnostic imaging examination.

Key Responsibilities

Assesses patient and their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic procedures. Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts in order to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease processes to properly and safety position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield. Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel. Checks stock inventory and initiates orders. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards. Communicates with providers on types of x-rays that can be done at JVCHC. Downloads reports and distributes them daily. Keep disc for records storage. Orders UPT as needed on female patients. Must have working knowledge of electronic medical records and how to navigate within the system to retrieve material. Health Requirements:
