Pay range for this position is $31.67 - $47.47/hour.
Actual pay is based on years of licensure.

The Diabetes Educator has specific responsibilities in the evaluation of each patient with diabetes. The educator must be skilled in the teaching-learning process and have an extensive background and understanding of diabetes, including diabetes management and complications. The educator has the responsibility, and must have the capability to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching and learning that has been provided. The Diabetes Educator protects, promotes and restores health and wellness of the patient with diabetes by practicing at the highest level of licensure; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary care team members for provide care coordination to the patient. The Diabetes educators are members of a multidisciplinary team who cares for, educates and motivates patients with diabetes to live a healthy lifestyle.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Experience: 6 months experience as an RN in a healthcare environment Basic knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft application basic proficiency BLS OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Candidates must possess current licensure by the State Board of Nursing in Illinois and must obtain Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification within two years of hire. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and six months of RN experience in a healthcare setting.
