YMCA Southcoast Job Title: Sail Specialist-Camp
Position Summary
Plan and facilitate creative projects with a group of campers ranging in age 4-14 years.
Essential Functions
Design camper programs around specific camp specialties of an athletic, creative, physical and/or educational nature. Plan and schedule activities based on the abilities, and interests of campers. Write lesson plans that will l engage campers and foster and enhance their skill development. Demonstrate appropriate use of equipment, proper techniques in activity participation, and articulate expected learning and achievement for satisfactory completion of activities. Monitor participation to ensure safety rules and requirements are followed. Maintain awareness of potential health and safety issues, identify hazards, and take appropriate action to resolve.

Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age. High School graduate or equivalent; minimum one year college preferred. Experience working with children in day camp setting. Ability to interact effectively with children and parents on a range of issues. Experienced and skilled in one or more camp program activities. Certified, or ability to be certified, within first 30 days of hire in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention.
Physical Demands
Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to demonstrate physical stamina and agility, and stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, run, and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and communicate verbally in a noisy environment.
