Position Overview Nelson University seeks a highly qualified adjunct faculty member with a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program to begin teaching in Fall 2027. This position is within the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Community Services.
The successful candidate will teach assigned graduate counseling courses in a fully online format and contribute to the continued strength of the counseling curriculum. Primary Responsibilities · Teach assigned counseling and counselor education courses beginning Fall 2027. · Deliver instruction aligned with CACREP standards where applicable. · Integrate Christian faith and professional counseling identity in course engagement. · Facilitate applied learning, case analysis, and professional skill development. · Provide timely, substantive feedback to students. · Submit required course documentation and assessment materials.
Minimum Qualifications
Education · Preferred: State licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a college or university setting · Required: Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education & Supervision Graduate of a CACREP-accredited program ABD candidates with a clear timeline toward completion of the terminal degree may be considered. Professional Qualifications · Documented professional counseling/clinical experience. · Experience teaching in an online format preferred. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds. · Commitment to collaboration and program development.
Faith Commitment · Personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission. · Active participation in a local church community; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred. Compensation Compensation is determined according to established distance education pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.
