The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for completing comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance abuse history and preparing individualized treatment plans. They provide individual and group counseling, document treatment progress, and perform case management.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field and current certification as a substance abuse counselor or higher licensure. A minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling is required.
