Position Summary

The IIH-Behavior Technician (Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician (BT)) is responsible for implementing individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Services are provided under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in home settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Deliver 1

  • 1 ABA therapy as directed by the supervising BCBA, following individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies
  • Record and maintain accurate data on client progress using electronic data collection systems
  • Implement skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social, adaptive, and academic behaviors
  • Follow and apply behavior reduction protocols as designed by the BCBA
  • Assist with the generalization of skills across environments, people, and settings
  • Provide reinforcement, prompting, and other ABA techniques in accordance with the client’s treatment plan
  • Maintain professional and ethical conduct in accordance with BACB guidelines (if applicable)
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and team meetings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the clinical team
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of clients at all times

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with 3 years of experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred with 1 year of experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
  • RBT certification (preferred but not required at time of hire; required within 90 days of employment if applicable)
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes or centers as needed
  • Must pass background checks, including criminal history and abuse registry screenings
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor for extended periods
