LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool Teaching Assistant: Infant/Toddler & Preschool Programs

The teaching assistant supports the care and education of a group of children by assisting the lead teacher in implementing daily programs, carrying out planned developmentally appropriate activities, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Responsibilities also include collaborating on planning, documentation for student portfolios, conducting assessments, and fostering positive communication partnerships with families.

Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma, and the candidate must obtain a child development associate (Cda) credential or an early childhood ancillary certificate within three years of starting, though an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education can substitute. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
