• Education/Experience/Training/Certifications At a minimum, some high school level education (over 16+ years of age) CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification, and Emergency Oxygen fromthe Red Cross Obtains YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent at the first certification course offered by the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit after hire.

Duties & Responsibilities

Shadows and prepares swimming lessons according to the YMCA guidelines Builds authentic relationships with students and parents Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules as appropriate Maintains records as required and attends staff meetings and trainings Performs other assigned duties as directed by the supervisor Abilities & Skills Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
