Special Education Teacher

The special education teacher provides direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in various settings, collaborates with teachers and behavior intervention staff, and is responsible for developing and monitoring individualized education plans (Ieps) to foster academic and career readiness skills.

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an educational discipline and active teacher licensure/Certification are required, with lbs1 licensure being necessary or obtainable within one year with assistance. Candidates must also pass a dcfs criminal background check and meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
