About the role

Teach swimming lessons to diverse groups and create a welcoming and safe pool environment. Maintain documentation about participants' progress and attend necessary trainings.

Description Are you passionate about aquatics? Do you enjoy teaching others swimming skills and techniques, as well as pool safety? If so, please consider applying to become a swim instructor and joining our Aquatics Team at the Tri-Community Family Branch YMCA!

Essential Functions

Teach swimming lessons to diverse groups of people including adult members, youth, children families and those with diverse abilities. Create a welcoming and safe pool environment for all. Use appropriate equipment when necessary and report any issues with equipment to the Aquatics Director or facility personnel. File any reports or maintain any necessary documentation about progress for program participants. Attend staff trainings/meetings and maintain relevant certification related to the position. Other duties as necessary as assigned by the Aquatic Director/Coordinator.

Qualifications

Hold current Water Safety Instruction certification or be willing to become certified One year of experience teaching swim lessons preferred Must be at least 16 years old

Job Type

Part-time

Schedule: Hours may vary. Please let us know your availability!

Pay: $15.00/hour base rate and $20.00/hr for Private Lessons. Plus access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Water Safety Instruction certification or be willing to obtain one. One year of experience teaching swim lessons is preferred, and applicants must be at least 16 years old.
