Salary Range

for this role is $49,200-$122,000 annually.

  • Phillips Academy seeks a Counselor to join the Counseling and Psychological Services team beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Phillips Academy is a vibrant learning community for high school students, approximately 80% of which live on campus.
  • All students at PA access the Sykes Wellness Center, which is the home of the Counseling and Psychological Services department.
  • Clinical counseling responsibilities may include but are not limited to providing individual mental health counseling and group workshops to students; crisis assessment and intervention; and consultation and care collaboration with students, parents, faculty members, and outside providers.
  • Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to implementing programming (workshops and groups), advising student groups, and collaborating with other departments to increase awareness throughout the school community.
  • The position also includes shared on-call responsibilities, which include but are not limited to one on-call day per week and weekends.
  • Due to the nature of on-call coverage, candidates must live within 30 minute radius of campus to allow for prompt in-person response when needed.This position requires a doctoral degree in psychology or a terminal master’s degree in a mental health discipline.
  • Candidates must be independently licensed mental health provider.
  • Applicants with three or more years of postgraduate clinical experience are strongly preferred.
  • This is a 10-month, administrative faculty role that is 1.0 FTE and is unhoused
