Job description

  • ‌ Title of Position - Adjunct Faculty – Graduate School of Theology Posting Location - Abilene Christian University and/or Remote Department - Graduate School of Theology Employee Class - Part-time Faculty About ACU ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ.
  • All applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university.
  • Basic Responsibilities A.
  • Provide high-quality instruction, direction and support for students in the classroom environment.
  • B.
  • When requested attend departmental/team meetings to participate with the program faculty in planning, and development of program and curriculum.
  • Essential Duties Provide high quality instruction, direction and support for students in the classroom environment.
  • 1.
  • Facilitate a range of class sizes, up to 25 students, which may include dividing the class into sections for discussion and group activities.
  • 2.
  • Provide rich and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical.
  • 3.
  • Hold a minimum of two office hours per week, and be available by appointment for in-person or virtual meetings with students individually or in groups.
  • 4.
  • Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries outside of class time, regarding course material or academic matters.
  • 5.
  • Enter final course grades by deadline.
  • 6.
  • Alert department chair and/or program director to any student issues.
  • This includes performance issues (e.g. failing grades, failing to turn in assignments, etc.) and policy violation issues (e.g. plagiarism).
  • 7.
  • Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, and those specified by ACU’s College of Biblical Studies.
  • 8.
  • Provide feedback to designated point of contact for program and/or course improvement 9.
  • Attend/complete program and faculty trainings and provide credentialing/records updates as required.
