Responsibilities
Assisting in the welfare, health, and safety of the children. Knowing the number of children in the group to which they are assigned. Assisting in executing all classroom and outdoor activities. Welcomes each child as he/she arrives or leaves. Assisting in mealtime activities. Bathroom and hand washing supervision. Attends staff meetings. Assists in cleaning center thoroughly (including cleaning bathrooms and floors) Attend in-service meetings and training courses as assigned. Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
Excellent communication skills with teachers, children, parents and other childcare workers. Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents. Must participate in 20 hours per year of training through workshops, courses, conferences, and all in-service training relating to early childhood education. Ensures and maintains the PQ Registry is up to date. Submit and pass background check. Obtain certification in CPR and First-Aid within 6 months of employment; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary.
