Job description

Special Education Teacher – South Carolina | School-Based Opportunity

Ready to take the next step in a rewarding and purpose-driven career? We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join a South Carolina school district for the current academic year.

In this role, you will provide tailored instruction and strategic supports to students with a variety of learning differences, ensuring they can successfully engage with the general education curriculum. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), using progress monitoring and data analysis to drive instructional decisions and promote measurable growth.

Collaboration will be central to your work. You will partner with general education teachers, service providers, school leaders, and families to maintain cohesive and supportive learning environments. Through differentiated strategies and research-based interventions, you will help foster resilience, self-advocacy, and academic achievement in every student you serve.

Additional Details

Monitor student progress through data collection and analysis. Maintain accurate service documentation and progress reports. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, evaluations, and planning. Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student goals. Develop and manage IEPs in compliance with federal and state requirements. Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive learning settings.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid South Carolina teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement (multi-categorical or equivalent). A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Special Education is required. Previous experience in resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom settings is strongly preferred.
