The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Gymnastics Instructor to join our team.

As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for children of all ages teaching gymnastics skills and progression. You will use your passion to serve others to help serve staff, members, guests, volunteers, and programs participants in the gymnastics program.
$18.00 to $18.50 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

The Gymnastics Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for children of all ages teaching gymnastics skills and progression. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
· Prepare lesson plans with a natural progression appropriate to the age and ability of the gymnast.
· Outline class lesson plans to keep children moving, eliminate of lot of turn taking and standing or sitting for long periods of time.
· Responsible for instruction of gymnastics skills and progression.
· Enforce all safety rules and regulations in the gymnastics gym.
· Finish each class with a fun group activity. Incorporate and discuss the YMCA values and mission statement in the teaching of gymnastics classes.
· Show excitement through voice, actions, and posture.
· Keep accurate records of each class participant's progress reports.
· Track class attendance.
· Communicate with parents and supervisor regarding participant's performance.
· Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
· Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
· Cleaning and sanitation protocols will be required of all staff.
· Staff will be responsible for frequent touchpoint cleaning and sanitizing in specific areas.
· Staff are expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE.
· Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
· Minimum of 15 years of age or older.
· Six months or more of experience teaching gymnastics and/or personal gymnastics experience preferred.
· Positive attitude and previous experience with children of all ages and diverse populations.
· Knowledge and skills in program activities and related gymnastics and office equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age appropriate techniques.
Knowledge and skills to instruct gymnastics.
· CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
· Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.
· Six months or more of experience teaching gymnastics and/or personal gymnastics experience preferred.
