Lifeguard I

The lifeguard is responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions by actively surveilling the pool area and immediately responding to emergencies according to ymca policies and procedures. They must also perform required chemical testing, equipment checks, and maintain all necessary certifications.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess current certifications in cpr/Aed, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration, along with a current ymca lifeguard certification or equivalent. Essential requirements include the ability to respond quickly to emergencies, exemplify ymca ideals, and possess strong communication and customer service skills.
