About the role

The Program Specialist is responsible for proficiently teaching the established camp program curriculum and concepts while actively engaging in and adjusting activities to meet the varying needs of different groups. This role also involves assisting with the development of new programs, supporting meal procedures, and cooperating in the maintenance of the grounds and proper use of facility equipment.

This is a part-time position specializing in summer programming, with options to support in the off-season groups.

The CTL Program Specialist supports the camp by delivering quality outdoor camp experiences and providing exceptional service to campers and guests.

Essential Functions: Proficiently teach the program curriculum and concepts Assist in development of new programs Be actively engaged in, and adjust activities to accommodate varying group needs Assist in meal procedures Cooperate on maintaining the grounds and seeing that facility equipment is used properly Ability to relate well to children, to communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, other staff, and Y leadership Ensure a safe experience for all participants

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old High School Diploma or GED 1 Year of college course work and a minimum 24 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Any applicable certifications, training or licenses needed for specialized program required. Ability to obtain: Lifeguard Certification, High Ropes Certification, Low Ropes Certification, and/or Archery Certification. Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required Previous camp experience or experience working in a related field working with people preferred Ability and willingness to work outside in the Texas summer heat Must pass reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender registry check Pay Rate: $15.00-$19.00/hour About Us: We are a not-for-profit services Association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout 7 Texas Counties.
