The therapist provides direct face-to-face behavioral services, conducts intake evaluations, and develops treatment plans for consumers. They are also responsible for crisis intervention and maintaining documentation according to state operational standards.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Mental Health, Psychology, or Social Work and possess a valid professional license or be eligible for state credentials. A valid driver's license and a clean criminal background check are also required.
Description MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST (Behavioral Specialist - Preschool)
CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK The Mental Health Therapist provides direct services to consumers in assigned program according to program requirements and participates in center programs as needed.
Master's Degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Must possess a professional license (Licensed Professional Counselor, Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Master Social Worker) or be eligible to earn a Mississippi Department of Mental Health credential as a Mental Health Therapist, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Therapist, or Addictions Therapist (as appropriate to the service and population being served). Must maintain a valid Mississippi driver’s license. Must pass a criminal background check.
