  • Category: Entry LevelDay Camp counselors will provide constant supervision and guidance to all children assigned to them each session to ensure that a quality and safe program is offered. They will foster an environment through age-appropriate activities that will allow children to develop skills, and friendships. Supervise and guide a group of children to ensure a positive and nurturing experience for each participant. Guard participants safety and welfare at all times. Ensuring that the scheduled activities are followed, organized, and implemented with the values of our YMCA, caring, respect, responsibility, honesty and faith at the forefront. Seasonal position for the summer

  • Monday-Friday 12:30pm - 5:30pm Qualifications Two years of experience working with children of the proper age preferred. Skill and/or certification in teaching crafts, songs, stories, games, sports, aquatics and related camp activities. Excellent communication skills. Ability to exercise sensitivity dealing with individuals of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, cognitive and physical levels. Have an understanding of development characteristics of children of various ages. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
  • Must meet all pre-employment requirements including: criminal background investigation as required.
  • Certifications required within 90 days of hire: CPR/AED, First Aid and Safe schools. Understand and be committed to the YMCA mission and character development.
