  • Summary: The Listening Ear Activities (LEA) Program Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating activities designed to meet consumers interests and engage consumers in the communities where they reside. Reporting and Supervision The LEA Program Lead reports to the Residential Manager for CLS/In Home Help and indirectly to the Director of Residential Services. Essential Job Functions Provides support, guidance to LEA participants Develops and Implements Direct Service for cost-effective activities designed to meet consumer interests and engage with the community. Transport consumers from designated locations to and from the scheduled activity in a timely manner.

  • Activities (LEA): Coordinates and implements activities per agreement within the PCP perimeters honoring consumer choice and the role of the program. Works with RM to better utilize authorizations for individuals enrolled in the program. Reviews and signs off as trained on PCPs and addendums Arranges activities, communicates weekly with participants for event availability, pick up and drop off times, transportation, signing up individuals, filling out progress notes. Assures all paperwork/progress notes are filled out after each activity. Follows all Listening Ear policies and procedures. This is not an exhaustive list of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described. Other relevant duties, tasks, or requirements may be assigned to this job any time at the sole discretion of the employer. QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must possess or acquire within 90 days a working knowledge of laws, regulations, and methodologies relevant to working with adults with varying degrees of developmental disabilities, mental health disabilities, and adults with cognitive impairments including, but not limited to: Recipient Rights Agency Ethics and the Consumer Bill of Rights Person Centered Plans CPR First Aid Safety and fire prevention Nutrition Prevention of communicable diseases Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to respond to emergency situations in a controlled manner Work with professionalism, including empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record Must be registered in CHAMPS Must demonstrate effective communication skills when working with participants, parents, and guardians.

  • Required: High School Diploma, GED, or be functionally equivalent in reading and writing in English, and basic math. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time employment begins.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a direct support capacity with a licensed care facility. Prior experience in event planning, management, and coordination. Schedule, Travel Expectations, Working Conditions This position requires regular travel, including transporting consumers. This may include the use of your personal vehicle when a company vehicle is unavailable. This position regularly requires work activities during evening hours and/or on weekends.

  • Over an 8-hour period: Prolonged standing, regular or intermittent lifting and reaching above shoulders, pulling and pushing, bending at waist, twisting torso, kneeling, walking. Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50#. Must pass, physical, TB test, and all applicable background tests.
