Job summary

The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instruction, classroom management, and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and capable of following lesson plans while engaging students and upholding school policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow and implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher.
  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Take attendance and maintain accurate classroom records.
  • Manage student behavior and enforce school rules to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Adapt teaching methods when necessary to meet the needs of students.
  • Report any incidents or issues to school administration.
  • Leave written feedback for the regular teacher regarding the day’s events.
