Carolina Day School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic JV Head/Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach (Lead Assistant) to join our athletics team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Coach to support and enhance all aspects of the Girls Volleyball program, with a focus on strategy, player development, and program culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the game of volleyball and values building meaningful relationships with student-athletes. This Coach will play a key role in shaping the daily execution and long-term vision of the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach to implement strategies, analyze opponents, and contribute to both individual and team development
  • Lead portions of practices, including skill-specific drills, team segments, and offensive/defensive installations
  • Provide strategic insights and adjustments during games and contribute actively during timeouts.
  • Assist in scouting opponents and leading film sessions as assigned
  • Support student-athlete recruitment, retention, and overall team engagement
  • Participate in daily practice planning and contribute to the broader goals of program development

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience or high-level playing experience at the high school or collegiate level required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to connect with and motivate student-athletes
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team-oriented coaching staff
  • Passion for the game of volleyball and a strong commitment to character development
  • High energy, positive attitude, and a growth mindset
