Classroom Assistant (Powder Mill Campus-Beltsville, MD)

The classroom assistant provides safe and engaging supervision and instruction to students with disabilities, adhering to behavior intervention plans and assisting with the adaptation of instruction to meet individual academic and developmental needs. Responsibilities include supporting iep implementation, teaching life skills, recording data, providing basic medical support, and participating in meetings and professional development.

A high school diploma or ged is required for this position, although an associate's degree in education or a related area is preferred. Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred, and required training in pcm or cpi must be achieved and maintained.
