About the role

The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading all team practices, games, and activities, while developing effective training programs to enhance player skills and performance. Description Marian Central Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as Assistant Volleyball Coach. The ideal candidate will be passionate about volleyball, committed to fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and dedicated to the personal and athletic growth of student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and lead all practices, games, and team activities. Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance players’ skills and performance. Teach and reinforce fundamental volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules of the game. Promote a positive and competitive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and teamwork. Work collaboratively with the varsity head coach and coaching staff to ensure program consistency and player development. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and other relevant information. Monitor academic performance and encourage student-athletes to prioritize their education. Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and IHSA regulations and policies. Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, promoting character development and leadership skills.

Requirements

Previous coaching experience at the high school or club level preferred. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and training techniques. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes both on and off the court. Commitment to upholding the values and mission of Marian Central Catholic High School. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). You must pass all background checks and comply with school and state safety regulations.
